TERMS & CONDITIONS

By making a booking with ideawood you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Bookings and Payments:

We require payment in full for all bell tents.  When you make a booking, a booking confirmation email will be sent to you confirming the name of the tent, dates and times.  Booking and payment is considered the establishment of a legal contract.

Cancellation

We realise sometimes that plans need to change and if possible we will offer you alternative dates to suit both us and you.  If this is not possible and you let us know one month or more in advance then we keep a 50% deposit and the remaining balance will be refunded.  If we are able to re-let your booking then we will provide a full refund, however we would recommend that you take holiday cancellation insurance to cover any loss should we not be able to re-let.  In the unlikely event that any of our tents are unavailable due to fire, flood or other unforeseen circumstances, ideawood cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, but the full cost of the holiday will be refunded.

Arrival and Departure Times

Check in is between 4 and 8pm. If you are likely to be later than this please let us know a rough arrival time in advance, so we can ensure we are around. We strongly recommend you arrive at least an hour before dark so you can familiarise yourself with your surroundings and facilities.

Please vacate your tent by 11am on day of departure.

Free car parking is available on site.  Upon arrival please come to the house and we will show you where to park and provide wheelbarrows to take your luggage to your tent.

Responsible tenanting

By booking with ideawood, you are agreeing to leave all furniture and furnishings in the same state you found them, and to leave the site clean and tidy when you depart.

Should any facilities, equipment or inventory be damaged wilfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.  Ideawood cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Remember that the showers, toilets and communal areas are shared, so please clean up after use and try to accommodate others.  Leave the Coalshed as you find it and let us know if there are any problems.  We will empty the bins, clean the showers and toilets and take the recycling away daily.  Please keep your bell tent clean and dispose of your litter in the bins and recycling facilities provided.  There is wildlife on site and it will find food!

Rubbish and recycling:
Black bags – general rubbish including plastic containers
Orange bags – all tin cans, plastic bottles, paper and card
Black box – glass
Food compost bin – all food waste

The outdoor kitchen is also a collective space so please leave it as you would wish to find it.  It is also your responsibility to turn off the gas bbq after use.  Please do not attempt to disconnect the gas bottle though, if you think it has run out please contact us and we’ll investigate.

Fires

Fires are only permitted in the fire pit.  Please do not relocate the fire pit.  Heat resistant gloves are provided in the tent for safe loading of logs.  Please put ash from the fires in the bins provided, we can resuse it.

Extra logs are made available next to the bbq for purchase.  Please leave £10 in the honesty box within the coalshed for every trug-full (all money for wood goes toward the on-going woodland management scheme).

Do not pick up logs and branches for the fire – they may be the home of wildlife or fungi which are an important part of the eco-system here.

You are responsible for any fire you light so please pay attention to it and don’t leave it unattended.  We cannot be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to any of your or our stuff caused by negligence.  There is a fire-extinguisher in each tent and a sand bucket is situated in the outdoor kitchen.  Please only use these if you are sure it is completely safe.

No fireworks or Chinese lanterns are permitted in our garden or woodland.  No naked flames of any sort are permitted inside the tents.

There is strictly no smoking in any of the tents and buildings or in the communal areas at ideawood.  Please dispose of cigarette ends within bins provided.

SURROUNDING AREA

ideawood is situated next to a working farm.  There are sheep and cows in the fields at the bottom of the garden.  We ask you not to feed them or cause them any distress (including keeping dogs on leads in the fields).  Please obey any no entry signs on or near the site, these are there for your safety.  If you do the walk from our garden to Nash Farm, please follow the public right of way signs.  You are responsible for your own and your parties’ personal safety when on site and in the surrounding area.

NOISE

Noise at night must be kept to a minimum including barking dogs.  Sound travels far in the country and we ask you to respect our neighbour’s peace and quiet.  Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be politely asked to leave, without refund.

DOGS & CHILDREN

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them under control, preferably out of the pond and clean up any mess.  They are obviously welcome inside the bell-tents but keep them off the furniture.  We have a very friendly but relatively large dog called Holly who may well pay you a visit during your stay.  Please keep unfriendly dogs on a lead.  There is wildlife and livestock in neighbouring fields and farmers do not take kindly to dogs chasing their sheep.  There is a charge of £10 per night per dog.  This charge is payable as part of your booking.

After much deliberation, we have decided that children (apart from babes in arms) can only be part of the booking if you take exclusive use of the ideawood site by booking all 3 tents.  We are sorry for this but we have two under 10’s of our own and we know how disruptive they can be to others trying to enjoy a nice quiet break!

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

ideawood takes no responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings brought onto site.  Please leave valuables at home as there is nowhere to lock anything up during your stay apart from your vehicle.

WILDLIFE

There are ducks, moorhens and other visiting birds around the pond.  Please enjoy their presence and try not to disturb them.  The large pond in our garden is not fenced off.  We will not be held responsible for any accidents or breakages as a result of falling in the water.  If you are staying with children, please keep an eye on them at all times.

The woods have many species of flora, fauna and fungus; please tread carefully.
